Sean Kelly

Sean Kelly, nicknamed King Kelly, was a classic specialist. He was very fast in his early carreer, but became more and more a complete rider, able to follow the very best in the mountains and good in time trials. Was amongst the favorites in any classic, and was an outsider in the grand tours. Sean Kelly rode for 7 teams during his carreer: Flandria: 1977–1978 Splendor: 1979–1981 Sem-France Loire: 1982–1983 Skil-Sem: 1984–1985 KAS: 1986–1988 PDM-Concorde-Ultima: 1989–1991 Festina-Lotus: 1992–1993 He won 4 times the green jersey in the Tour de France: 1982, 1983, 1985, 1989 He won once the Vuelta: 1988 He won Paris-Nice 7 times: 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988 Next to that he was very successful in the classics too as he won 2 times Milan – San Remo, 2 times Paris–Roubaix, 2 times Liège–Bastogne–Liège and 3 times Giro di Lombardia.
