Bernard Hinault

Bernard Hinault, nicknamed ‘The Badger’ due to the physical resemblance and his impulsive personality. He is arguably one of the greatest cyclists ever, successfull in both Grand Tours and Classics. Hinault rode for 4 teams during his carreer: Gitane: 1975-1977 Renault-Gitane: 1978-1980 Renault-Elf: 1981-1983 La Vie claire: 1984-1986 He won 5 times the Tour de France: 1978, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1985 He won 3 times the Giro: 1980, 1982, 1985 He won 2 times the Vuelta: 1978, 1983 In 1980 he won the world championships. In the classics he was very successfull too, as he won 2 times Giro di Lombardia, 2 times Liege-Bastogne-Liege and once Paris-Roubaix.
